Let’s Light up the UK for Brain Tumour Awareness Month

2 min read

Only by raising awareness can we continue to shine a spotlight on the desperate inadequacies in funding research into brain tumours. But we need your help. Will you help us Light up the UK with our message of hope?

As part of Brain Tumour Awareness Month this March, we’re asking for your support in lighting up landmarks across the UK in our signature pink and yellow colours, to bring attention to our cause.

Doing so is a poignant way to honour someone you know who has been impacted by a brain tumour diagnosis, or to remember a loved one lost to this devastating disease.

Last year, Lytham Windmill and Blackpool Tower shone bright in pink and yellow thanks to the family of Zara Taylor (pictured below in front of Lytham Windmill in 2023), who died of a glioblastoma aged 33.

More than 50 of the UK’s most iconic landmarks were lit up on our behalf last March, including Cardiff Castle, Leeds Civic Hall and St Michael’s Mount in Cornwall.

From town halls to towers, castles to cathedrals, this year we want Light up the UK to be bigger and brighter than ever before. To help us achieve this, email Liz@braintumourresearch.org for a template that you can email out to request that a building lights up in support of Brain Tumour Awareness Month this March. It couldn’t be easier.
